Volunteer Opportunities

As a volunteer, you will become part of our caring team. Your service will provide invaluable assistance to the staff, freeing up their time to do what they are trained to do. The assistance, interaction and friendship you provide will contribute greatly to the quality of life of our residents.

We hope that you will become an important member of our team. May your experience as a volunteer be both exciting and rewarding.

To become a volunteer please call Nita at
320-274-2591. Training is provided.

The following volunteer opportunities are currently available on our campus:

Transportation Companion

Many times a week residents need transportation to physician appointments.  Often their families are not available to ride with them to the appointments.  As a volunteer rider you can help by riding to appointments with them and assisting them into the physicians’ office. You would have the opportunity to converse with the residents while together.  Times may vary and training will be provided.

Bird Aviary/Pet Helper

The residents at the Care Center find enjoyment from the bird aviary and fish aquarium.  We need a volunteer that would enjoy working with the birds and fish.  If you are an animal lover this opportunity is for you.

Kickball/ Balloon Volleyball Leaders

Needed: Leaders who like to have fun but aren’t afraid to intervene if individuals become too aggressive during play in order to keep everyone safe.  Residents love both of these activities and look forward to the fun.

Fancy Fingers

Don’t all ladies feel better when their nails are looking great?  We need manicure assistants to help a couple of times a month make that happen for our residents.  No cutting of nails is involved, just painting and beautiful results.  It will even make you feel better!!

Fall Baking

What can be better than the smell of fresh baked goodies wafting through the air?  You can help make that happen by assisting residents with baking projects.  Share your own ideas or get new ones from the participants, either way everyone will enjoy the aromas and results.

One-on-One Visits

Individuals that are self-motivated and comfortable working with residents that have physical or cognitive impairments are needed to provide one-on-one visits and sensory stimulation. Your interaction with the resident will enhance the quality of their life that day and provide you with a sense of accomplishment. Training will be provided.

Weekend/Evening Volunteer Opportunities

There is a need for volunteers to play cards or games on the weekends with the residents.  Also any individuals musically inclined who would like to attend regularly on either weekends or evenings to provide ˝ hour to 45 minutes of music or entertainment your expertise would be greatly welcomed.   Your flexibility is important to us and can be accommodated.

Paper Shredding

Unfortunately there is paper that always needs shredding.  This volunteer opportunity is to anyone over the age of 16 who likes to work independently.  Set your own time.

Musical Entertainment at Centennial Villa Assisted Living

Musical entertainment is needed for the tenants at Assisted Living.  If you have musical talent that you would like to share with the group your reward will be avid and appreciative listeners.

Extra TLC One-to-One

There is a need for tenants at the Assisted Living to have a link to persons living    in the community.  As a volunteer you can foster new relationships, bring news of community events and happenings and provide friendship.  Visits may be set to your specification.

Birthday Bash

Once a month a Birthday Bash is a happening at the Assisted Living.  Volunteers are welcome to participate in the party by assisting the staff with entertainment and refreshments.

Like to work in an office?

The Administrative Secretary and Nursing Departments are seeking a volunteer to assist with copying, making admission packets and general office work.  Do not need typing or computer abilities.  Hours are flexible.  Training will be provided.  Work at your own pace.
